Our Mission at Highland Park

Everything that we do at Highland Park Baptist Church centers around the Gospel of Jesus Christ...the saving power that is available to all who believe.  We aim to  not only strengthen our faith and unity as a church but also to reach out to those around us, both near and far, with the Good News that we are eager to share.

Our mission statement focuses our work in four inter-connecting areas:

Engaging: We will engage our community and the nations with the Gospel.  We will serve the people of our community and seek to introduce them to the truth of God's Word, the work that He has done in our lives, and the powerful message of grace that is available to all who turn to Him.

Enlightening: We will enlighten hearts and minds with the Word of God.  Through solid Bible teaching, we will proclaim the Truth so that we each see our own need for a Savior, we submit ourselves to Jesus as Lord, and we allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.

Encouraging: We will encourage believers in their walk with Christ.  Through uplifting and vibrant fellowship, we will build relationships that strengthen each member's faith and provide support that naturally flows from a family of believers who love one another.

Equipping: We will equip the saints for the work of ministry.  We will study together, learn together, and hold each other accountable so that we are able to reflect the love and character of Christ to the world around us.

Our Vision for Highland Park

Highland Park Baptist Church is to be a church that advances the Gospel in our city, our region, and throughout the nations by making disciples for the glory of Jesus Christ.

We view this not only as a great privilege, but a solemn duty. We are stewards of the glorious Gospel, and we must share it with the nations. We are indebted to the world to bring them this great gift.

"I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek."

Romans 1:14-16
